We couldn't be more different. One of us lives in the quiet hills outside San Francisco — trails, morning fog, and open skies. The other is rooted in the concrete rush of New York City.

We've always loved each other, but shared routines? Not many. Until the babies arrived.

Then came twins on the West Coast and a little one on the East — and our phone calls turned into the same conversation every time: why is everything so scratchy, so stiff, so quick to be rejected before noon? As moms, you learn to read the small things — the seam they keep tugging at, the outfit that never gets worn twice, the one blanket that goes everywhere. We knew softness didn’t have to be this hard to find. So we started making what we were looking for. That’s how Apple & Loom was born.

Apple is the fun part: bold, playful prints that start as drawings — a little dinosaur, a rainbow, a bird mid-flight, a sailboat. Childhood is messy, colorful, and a little chaotic, and we think what kids wear should feel that way too. These are prints kids point at, pick out, and call “mine.”

Loom is the feel: premium cotton, soft on little skin and free of harsh dyes, made in small batches and built to be used, washed, dragged around, and passed down.

Fog and concrete. Trails and subways. Sometimes one of us loves a print and the other absolutely doesn't. But from 3,000 miles apart, every piece has to pass the same test: would we choose this for our own kids? If the answer is no, it doesn't get made.

We didn't start from scratch — we reached back home. We grew up in India wearing pure cotton every single day, so we returned to the craft we knew: designs hand-carved into wooden blocks and printed by hand, gentle weaves, and skin-safe dyes, made in small batches by skilled artisans. Every piece holds the hands of the makers who printed it and the traditions we grew up with. Quite literally, stitched with stories.
