We grew up in India wearing pure cotton every single day. Not because anyone made a conscious lifestyle statement, but because that’s simply what was there. Cotton was honest and accessible; synthetic blends were the expensive novelty.

Without realizing it, our skin grew up with an uncompromising standard: cotton feels like nothing at all. It is light, breathable, and completely present without announcing itself. Once that sensory memory settles into you, it is impossible to accept anything less.

When our babies arrived—first twins on the West Coast, then a little one on the East—our phone calls across the country quickly turned into the exact same conversation:

We were buying pieces here in America and watching our little ones squirm, pull at scratchy seams, and reject stiff fabrics before noon. Everything seemed treated, blended, or over-processed. We began having small batches of pure cotton pieces made for our children in India—using hand-carved wooden blocks, gentle weaves, and skin-safe dyes. Our parents packed them into parcels and shipped them across the ocean.
